Learn about the highest quality instructor training program. A structured and holistic approach for each student.
Romana's Pilates International is the school founded by Romana Kryzanowska, who after decades of working together with Joseph Pilates and after his death in 1967, directly inherited the method created by him. Since then, our community of teachers has grown and expanded worldwide under the supervision of master trainers recognized by the organization.
The director in Spain is Javier Pérez Pont, who, since 2003, has been teaching and certifying on an explicit order from Romana. He and Esperanza Aparicio introduced the school to Barcelona with the purpose of preserving and maintaining Joe's legacy, which translates into professional training of high quality, rigor and excellence.
Our certification program lasts one year, during which the contents of Controlology are taught, pedagogically structured in three levels.
It includes intensive seminars, regular meetings with the tutor, practical classes, observation of client/student sessions, independent training and internships between students.
In total, about 700 hours.
All this from a practical point of view and aimed at developing a profession of value to serve the people who, more and more, turn to the Pilates method to improve their physical condition and maintain their general health.

To access the certification you need to know the basics of Pilates, which involves taking private lessons and integrating the essential principles and concepts.
Javier Pérez Pont collaborates with Romana's Pilates teachers who are also coordinators in this process of care and support for people interested in joining the program.
We have designed a "Preparation Workshop" that can be done with one of these coordinators in different parts of the country (Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, Ibiza, Madrid, Seville).

The workshop is taught by Raïssa Janer, director of PILATES TARRACO, teacher certified by Romana's Pilates since 2008 and collaborator of the certification program as coordinator.
The purpose of the preparation period is to provide the necessary knowledge to take and pass the entrance exam to the teacher training program of Romana's Pilates International.
The workshop consists of 30 hours of assistance: 10 hours are individual classes, 10 hours of access to equipment for independent training and 10 hours of observing classes for our students and clients.
At the end of the period, 2 more hours are included with teacher Javier Pérez Pont for the evaluation of the knowledge acquired, these hours can be online or in person.
